The Story

Sphagnum Moss - Ethically grown, hand picked and collected Welsh sphagnum moss. This high humidity component is perfect for propagation, amending substrates and dramatically increasing the humidity of a plant by using it as a top dressing. Every strand is super fresh and lively and given the right conditions, you can even grow more yourself!

Soil Ninja sell their full Sphagnum range in volume rather than weight, like all of our mixes, meaning you always pay for the amount of moss rather than the amount of water it is retaining.

Reminder: This is wild sphagnum moss, so do expect the occasional pine needle or hitchhikers in there, along with all the beneficial microfauna.

Sprouts notes
We love using sphagnum moss for propagation, and also use it in our living and fresh foliage wreaths to great effect! We haven't found any hitchhikers in there yet but have started lots of cuttings in Soil Ninja Sphagnum Moss to use in our terrariums or grow on into their own pots.

Scientific Name
Sphagnum platyphyllum (wide-leaved moss)
