Sarracenia purpurea - Pitcher Plant

 We love these over-the-top pitcher plants - they look almost alien. The great big pitchers will trap larger flies and insects, so they're perfect to have in the summer if you have any insect issues. 

Like all carnivorous plants, it's really important to use distilled or rainwater as they won't take kindly to tap water. They like full sun, but especially if placed outside make sure to keep them moist as in the wild they live in boggy and marshy areas.

• Likes full sun
• Mist regularly 
• Water regularly using distilled/rainwater
• Avoid fertiliser (it eats buggies for that)
